“Seinfeld” Cast Reunites On Entertainment Weekly Cover

EW.jpg“Seinfeld” was, and will always be, one of the quintessential New York television shows. It’s also one of the most missed by New Yorkers (or at least this New Yorker.)

Since the show ended 11 years ago, the cast — made up of Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards — has scattered to work on their own projects. Whispers of a reunion have always been around, but it took “Seinfeld” co-creator Larry David to make it happen.

Seinfeld, Alexander, Louis-Dreyfus and Richards will join David on the upcoming season of his current HBO show, “Curb Your Enthusiasm.”

And there’s lots more news about the long-awaited reunion in this week’s cover story in Entertainment Weekly:

“The story line, which starts in episode 3, is sprinkled over five of the season’s 10 episodes as Larry recruits the cast, then plans and tapes the big ‘Seinfeld’ reunion (viewers will see a few scenes of the ‘Seinfeld’ reunion episode on ‘Curb’). David is cagey on plot details, and will only hint that ‘Larry attempts to get [his estranged wife] Cheryl back, and the Seinfeld reunion figures prominently in that.’”

It’s taken seven seasons for David to lure the “Seinfeld” foursome to “Curb,” and it might just be a ratings ploy or a way for David’s show to go out with a bang. Either way, we’ll be watching.
