‘Seinfeld’ Heads Back to Original Syndication Home–WPIX
After a long stint on Fox 5, Seinfeld is returning to WPIX starting tonight. Reruns of the legendary sitcom starring Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, and Michael Richards originally aired on Channel 11 from 1995 to 2001 before moving to Fox 5/WNYW.
This time around, WPIX runs a weeknight double feature of Seinfeld from 11 p.m. to midnight. Seinfeld also airs Sunday nights at 9 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
To kickoff the Seinfeld return, WPIX has a special Nothing But the Big Apple theme week focusing on classic New York episodes including The Non-Fat Yogurt, The Subway and The Soup Nazi.
Then on Wednesday and Thursday, join Larry Thomas, also known as the Soup Nazi, at Liati’s Cafe in the WPIX building. Thomas will dish out soup for lunch and sign autographs.
“Like PIX11, Seinfeld has a long iconic history in the Big Apple. We are excited to bring the award-winning series back to PIX11 and have Seinfeld lead our “Laughs at 11″ comedy block, said Eric Meyrowitz, PIX11 VP/General Manager.
