If a report in the Daily News is accurate, Stephen A. Smith may be about to rejoin 1050 ESPN/WEPN.
Smith was a midday host on 1050 from 2005 to 2008, before he gave it up to concentrate on his TV work.
He ultimately left the Disney-owned company in April 2009.
Smith is known for having strong opinions, sometimes to the point of being caustic.
FishbowlNY attempted to reach ESPN 1050 for a comment.
The source tells the Daily News that having Smith back in the ”ESPN family” means that he’ll “be doing television at some point.”
While at 1050, Smith was teamed up with Brandon Tierney for the noon to 2 p.m. slot until 2007. During his final year, Smith was switched to 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Most recently, Smith had a short stint as morning show host for Fox Sports Radio.
