Currently Gaspereau Press is only printing 1,000 copies per week of Johanna Skibsrud‘s Giller Prize winning novel, The Sentimentalists.

According to The Star, a Giller Prize-winning novel could easily exceed that demand. For those with the right e-reader, Canadian readers can buy an eBook copy via Indigo’s Kobo Books.

Gary Dunfield, co-owner of Gaspereau along with Andrew Steeves, says for now they are not considering the option of outsourcing the printing.Last year’s winner, The Bishop’s Man by Linden McIntyre, sold 75,000 copies in hardcover. ”

Skibsrud debuted as a novelist with The Sentimentalists (2009). She has also published two volumes of poetry, Late Nights With Wild Cowboys (2008) and I Do Not Think that I Could Love a Human Being (2010). (Via Huffington Post)
