Overbrook Entertainment Snatches Up Film Rights to New Jenny Han YA Novel

book-boysOverbrook Entertainment has picked up the film rights to Jenny Han’s young adult novel, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before. Screenwriter Annie Neal has been hired to write the script.

Deadline reports that the story stars “high schooler Lara Jean Song, who writes love letters to the five boys she’s ever loved and keeps them locked away in a hatbox until the day her letters are mailed, upending her real-life love life.” The book came out back in April 2014.

Han has announced on her blog that she has a sequel in the pipeline entitled P.S. I Still Love You. Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers has scheduled a release date for April 21, 2015.

Shindig to Host Online Author Chats Live From BEA

Missing BookExpo America this year? You can watch many of the the guests online.

Shindig will be hosting video chats with fifty authors live from BEA. These online conversations will take place from Thursday, May 30th until Saturday, June 1st.

Some of the authors who will take part include The Summer I Turned Pretty author Jenny HanRevenge Wears Prada author Lauren Weisberger, and Fight Club author Chuck Palahniuk. Jenny Han Lands Deal for Semi-Autobiographical YA Novel

Jenny Han has inked a deal for her “semi-autobiographical” young adult novel. Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers will publish To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before in April 2014.

Publisher Justin Chanda negotiated the deal with Folio Literary Management senior vice president Emily Van Beek. Executive editor Zareen Jaffery will edit the manuscript. Here’s more from the release:

Andrew Phillips Named Next Author Solutions CEO

Penguin International president Andrew Phillips has been named the next CEO of Author Solutions, the self-publishing business purchased by Penguin.
