Tonya Garcia joined PRNewser in August 2010 as editor. Most recently, Tonya was a member of the media team at the PR firm MS&L. Prior to that, she spent three years as a reporter with PRWeek. She’s also written about other topics in outlets such as Fast Company and Essence.com. She has a Master’s degree in journalism from New York University.

Joe Ciarallo is Director of Communications at Buddy Media, a social media marketing software company. He is also a founding editor of PRNewser, and now a contributing editor to the site. Under his tenure as full-time editor of the site from August 2009 to August 2010, monthly unique visitors increased my more than 130%.

During his career as a communications professional, Ciarallo has worked with consumer, tech, non-profit and entertainment clients from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups. He spent three years managing accounts and growing business at Horn Group, a digital communications agency in downtown Manhattan.

His writing and photography has appeared in PRWeek, PR News, Folio, and Dvdfanatic.com. Ciarallo is often called upon to speak at industry events such as the PRSA T3 Conference, Bulldog Reporter Media Relations Summit and The Business Development Institute’s Social Enterprise conference.

He is a graduate from the School of Media Arts & Design at James Madison University.

Jason Chupick recently joined Crenshaw Communications as a media relations and social media strategist. He co-founded PRNewser while working as a freelance consultant to Crenshaw, Campfire Media and other agencies.

Prior to going solo, Chupick spent seven years at boutique agency Plesser Holland working in a range of sectors including investment and retail banking, software, social networks, education, and for media properties including WIRED, CNET, The Deal, MIT’s Technology Review,San Francisco, and Salon.com.
