Entertainment Weekly has launched a rewards program through a partnership with GetGlue.com, the social network for entertainment, whereby readers who check in to items posted on EW‘s “Must List” gain access to exclusive content. The partnership is a first of its kind for both organizations.
Fans can check in weekly for items, and can share the news on Facebook and Twitter. AdAge.com compares it to a check-in program TV Guide has started with Philo, a social network for TV viewers. And both the Oscars and Mercedes-Benz are among the other brands that have used GetGlue. A few people have answered a question on Quora about why they like GetGlue.
