Curt Kundred is joining Edelman as the firm’s U.S. president of the Western region. He was most recently regional president at Fleishman-Hillard, leading the Eastern, Western, and Canadian regions.

He assumes this role from Gail Becker, who will focus on her duties as chair of the Latin American and Canadian region. She will also serve as chair of the Western region. All changes go into effect on July 1.

Kundred will be based out of the San Francisco office, reporting to Matthew Harrington, president and CEO of Edelman U.S.

According to Edelman, the Western region contributes 22 percent of the firm’s U.S. revenue. Clients include Starbucks, Microsoft, Volkswagen, and AMD. The Western region includes offices in San Francisco, Seattle, San Diego, Sacramento, Portland, Silicon Valley, and L.A.
