Apropos of nothing, we just had to share this crucial news: In addition to being a celebrated master of foreign relations, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright also appears to be a competent jazz drummer!*

While we don’t have live footage from this past weekend’s Thelonius Monk Institute of Jazz 2012 Drums and Composers competition in DC, we do have the excellent photo on the left as well as some shaky cam video of the Secretary jamming out with “the new Kenny G” Chris Botti back in 2011.

Is there a lesson to be learned here? Well, sometimes the public profiles of famous figures can be a bit…limited. And people do have the power to surprise us. Your turn, Hil!
