Roll Call: Edelman, ‘EW,’ and LightSquared
Edelman has appointed Steven Behm GM of the Atlanta office. He’s been with the firm for five years, building its crisis, risk, and public affairs practice in the Southeast. He’s also served as the firm’s associate director for the national crisis and risk practice.
Beth Jacobson is joining Entertainment Weekly on September 6 as senior director of PR. She was previously the PR lead for Lucky magazine and has served as PR director for Rolling Stone.
Terry Neal has joined wireless broadband company LightSquared as SVP of PR and communications. The company is facing opposition as it tries to launch a 4G wireless network. Previously, Neal was SVP and director of strategic media at Hill & Knowlton’s Washington D.C. office. [via Multichannel News]
Deadline Hollywood reports that Disney has fired the marketing department at Marvel. Among those that were let go are Dana Precious, EVP of worldwide marketing for Marvel’s L.A. Studios and Jodi Miller, manager of worldwide marketing.
Therese Gamba has been named SVP of marketing for NBC Owned Television Stations, a group of 10 stations. Gamba started her new job this week. In addition to her work on these stations, she’ll also help with broader NBCUniversal campaigns. [via Broadcasting & Cable]
Ron Culp has been named director of the graduate PR and advertising program at DePaul University. He was MD and head of Ketchum North America before stepping down in June. He will serve as a career adviser and instructor at the university. [via PRWeek]
