Roll Call: P&G, Hilton, Arthur Page Society grants, and more

P&G‘s global external relations head Christopher Hassall is retiring on June 30, prompting a restructure of the company’s comms team, reporting to global brand-building officer Marc Pritchard (left). The group will shrink from 1,200 to 800, with a number of employees moving to regulatory and legal areas of the company. The new structure is in line with the company’s five-year $10 billion cost-cutting plan. [via]

Christian Kuhn has been appointed VP of marketing for Homewood Suites by Hilton and Home2 Suites by Hilton, two all-suite, extended stay hotel brands. Kuhn was previously director of brand marketing for Embassy Suites. He’s also worked with AOL and AARP.

The Arthur W. Page Center for Integrity in Public Communication at Penn State University has awarded 11 grants for The Page and Johnson Legacy Scholars for 2012 and 2013. The organization has also named 15 researchers and educators as Page Legacy Educators. Recipients come from Penn State, the University of Hawaii, and other colleges and universities across the country. More info here.

The Surround Group, a network of entertainment, media, and consumer tech marcomms firms, has added three new members: Spiderdreams, a lifestyle digital marketing agency based in France; Media Profile, a Canadian, employee-owned PR firm; and TrainTracks, a new media and digital firm based in Tokyo.

Edelman has named Amanda Goh MD of the company’s Singapore office, effective August 1. The office has 80 staffers and has a range of practice areas, from financial comms to health and corporate reputation. Goh has been with the company for a decade in offices around the world.

Former journalist and lawyer Ritchenya Dodd has joined Infinite PR‘s New York office as VP. Dodd also has a decade of media relations experience, and will assist the company in its plans to expand in the social media and marketing areas. She was previously the business development and marketing director at a New Jersey law firm. She’s written for The National Law Journal, the AP in Philadelphia, and other outlets.

The Public Relations Global Network has elected Mark Paterson, principal of Australia’s Currie Communications, as president. The group has also added two new members: energi PR, which has offices in Toronto and Montreal, and The Content Factory, from Dubai, UAE.
