Tools Round Up: Private Jets, Groupon Going Public, and An App to Avoid

Tired of sharing flights with tons of people you don’t know? Load your travel plans on the Social Flights website and anyone taking a similar trip can join you on a private aircraft. According to Springwise.com, 12 flights have already been organized since the site launched in February, including one carrying 90 Mississippi football fans to Jacksonville, FL.

Google has officially launched the +1 button across the Web. The +1 button allows you to recommend webpages from searches and websites to friends. It’s already on Google sites like Android Market, and partners including Mashable and Best Buy are rolling it out. One more way to spread the word virally. Have you used it yet? Any plans to?

On a separate PR note, TechCrunch said it got word about the +1 launch ahead of time by an overzealous pitching partner, the second time that sort of thing has happened.

With all the hacking going on, here’s a tool to avoid: An Android app called FaceNiff that will give hackers connected to the same WiFi service you are access to your social media accounts. A new social media site has launched in China, and it’s only for the crème de la crème, P1.CN. The network has 1.2 million members, all from among the wealthiest in the country. Prospective members have to be nominated by five existing members or be invited by a “talent scout.” According to Mogulite, the site is like other exclusive networks such as ASmallWorld.

MyPRGenie, an SEO and digital tool, has launched Facebook Genie and Tweet Genie that will allow users to create a Facebook newsroom and share info on Twitter. Late last year, PitchEngine launched a tool Newsroom for Facebook that also allows users to create an online newsroom in the social network.

Blip.tv has partnered with Collective Digital Studio, the online content division of The Collective, to distribute content from Collective Digital Studio creators. Web shows include Annoying Orange and FreddieW. The roll out of the partnership will be over the next six months.
