“Black in America 2″ Live from Times Square

Wednesday evening, CNN held a special live event in Times Square entitled “Moment of Truth: The Countdown to Black in America 2.” The event, hosted by Soledad O’Brien, was designed to help promote and lead-in to CNN’s new miniseries and featured guest appearances by D.L. Hughley, Roland Martin, Tom Joyner, and Harvard professor Henry Louis Gates among others.

We hear some audience members were lined up hours in advance and were greeted by Martin who spent time talking with the crowd around the perimeter. One estimate had the headcount at around 500 people.

The NYTimes reviewed “Black in America 2″ earlier this week.
