Candy Crowley’s “Reporter’s Retreat”
The Bethesda, Maryland home of CNN’s Candy Crowley is featured in a photo spread in the new issue of the DC-area publication HOME & DESIGN Magazine.
“I put things around my house from places I’ve been or from a person I love,” Crowley says in an interview for the article, titled Reporter’s Retreat. There are terracotta soldier statues purchased during a trip to China covering President Bill Clinton, and a red pitcher bought in South Carolina during the 2000 presidential primaries.
The home’s backyard garden — done in tropical style — was inspired by Crowley’s travels to Florida during the 2000 campaign.
Crowley’s overall decorating philosophy? “What I’ve learned over the years is that it’s okay to be your own stylist.”
