CNBC Cries ‘Exclusive’

Someone at CNBC needs to take it easy with the “EXCLUSIVE” button.

Today at 3:07pmET, CNBC’s Maria Bartiromo — with the help of some graphics — announced, “A ‘first on CNBC’ interview with the executive chairman, William Ford Jr.” Unfortunately, Ford was interviewed on Fox Business Network at 2:37pmET, a half hour earlier.

Yesterday at 9:45amET, both Erin Burnett and Mike Huckman said they had an “exclusive” interview with Leland Wilson, CEO of Vivus. Huckman: “Joining me live from New York City and another CNBC exclusive is Vivus’ CEO Leland Wilson.” Yes…”another.” (Wilson also appeared for an interview on FBN later that day.)

Including the Maddoff mansion “exclusive” that was on multiple networks, that’s three in just over a week.
