MSNBC’s David Shuster has been off of the network since April for taping that CNN pilot, but last night he resurfaced… on Twitter.

Shuster’s Twitter has been dormant longer than the anchor has, with his last tweet coming in January, until last night that is.

Yesterday was his birthday, and so with many people tweeting happy birthday messages, including “Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough, Shuster took to the service to respond:

“Thanks everybody. And a special thanks on this day to @joenbc”

At least Shuster still has Twitter… and softball.
