Matt Lauer Gets First Interview with Captain Held Hostage by Pirates

Matt Lauer wasn’t on the Today show today…and now we know why.

Lauer was in Vermont interviewing Maersk Alabama Captain Richard Phillips — Capt. Phillips’ first interview since returning to America after being held hostage by Somali pirates.

The interview airs on Tuesday’s Today show.

The majority was right. 33% said NBC/MSNBC would get the first interview. 29% said Fox News. CBS, ABC and CNN drew 13%, 12% and 10% of the vote, respectively.
