This morning a meme was created on NBC’s “Today.” Anchor Matt Lauer opted to go plaid, and everyone on staff had a few words to say about the outfit:

“Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie started a Twitter account (@MattPlaidJacket) and kept the joke going, cracking jokes and asking for contributions from fans.

“My last owner won Chrysler’s “Salesman of the Year” title 5 times. But gotta say, this guy’s gig on @todayshow is even more impressive.”
