Meet Tops Sunday Morning Competition

NBC’s Meet the Press was the top rated Sunday morning public affairs show last week, and was up week-to-week by more than 600,000 Total Viewers. CBS’ Face the Nation was also up week-to-week.

David Gregory moderated a panel that included Mayor Michael Bloomberg and Govs. Ed Rendell and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

The first place advantage was the most since January 4 for MTP, but year-to-year, ABC’s This Week continues to cut into the lead. ABC cut the gap by 36% in Total Viewers and 46% in the A25-54 demo compared to last year — the 8th consecutive week that’s happened.

In the demo, NBC was 1st. ABC and CBS tied for 2nd and FOX finished fourth.

NBC averaged 4,310,000 Total Viewers, ABC 2,980,000, CBS 2,750,000 and FOX 1,220,000.
