‘Morning Joe’ EP Suffers Apparent Aneurysm
Chris Licht, the Executive Producer of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” is in a Washington hospital this morning after suffering an apparent aneurysm.
Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were off the show this morning dealing with the situation. Willie Geist told viewers that Licht, who often appears on the show from the control room, was admitted to a D.C. hospital yesterday after experiencing extreme head pain. “A subsequent CT scan led doctors to believe that Chris had suffered an aneurysm,” Geist said.
At last check Licht is in stable condition. “He suffered no neurological effects from the incident,” Geist said, adding: “We expect him to make a full recovery. Please keep Chris in your prayers.”
Chris’s wife, Jenny Blanco Licht, who also works in TV News, is with Chris in Washington. The couple celebrated their wedding anniversary last Thursday and have a 20-month-old son, Andrew.
The “Morning Joe” production team is in Washington ahead of this weekend’s WHCA dinner. MSNBC is planning a special Sunday morning edition of the show.
