Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Drops By ‘Today’

NBC’s Savannah Guthrie, a self-proclaimed “kitchen catastrophe,” enlisted the help of Al Roker to cook her mom’s famous strawberry rhubarb pie for a taped “Show and Tell” segment on this morning’s “Today” show. There were few hiccups — after being told to seal the pie crust, Guthrie asks, “Do we have any tape?” — but the pie eventually comes out of the oven successfully and is frozen for the rest of the “Today” gang.

But when the pie was brought out on the set, Guthrie was in for a big surprise — it was delivered by her mother, Nancy. “Are you kidding me?” Guthrie asked, shocked. “I didn’t hear from you all weekend!”
