Lapin will be based at CNBC headquarters in New Jersey. The show airs from 4-6amET on CNBC/U.S. and in 100 countries simultaneously. Lapin joins Ross Westgate who anchors from London and Christine Tan who anchors from CNBC Asia in Singapore

Lapin was among four CNN.com Live anchors let go in November when CNN.com shuttered its live anchor-driven Webcasts.

Before CNN, Lapin worked as a business and technology reporter for First Business Network on the floor of the exchanges in Chicago. She began her career as a general assignment and investigative reporter at local CBS affiliates in Palm Springs, Lexington and Sioux Falls, SD.

He will also co-anchor the 3pmET hour of “Closing Bell” with Maria Bartiromo.
