Today in Rick Santelli News

santelli_3-3.bmpAfter the various plot lines to the Rick Santelli story yesterday, the CNBC reporter responded in a blog post on CNBC.com last night. “Let me be clear that I have NO affiliation or association with any of the websites or related tea party movements that have popped up as a result of my comments on February 19th, or to the best of my knowledge any of the people who organized the websites or movements,” he wrote.

The New York Times’ Brian Stelter spoke to one of those tea party organizers, Bill Hennessy, who credited Santelli with “inspiring the protest” last week.

Stelter also talked to a CNBC spokesman about why the network canceled Santelli’s Daily Show appearance tomorrow. “It was time to move on to the next big story,” he said.
