While Candy Crowley and Martha Raddatz are the newbies moderating this year’s sanctioned major candidate debates, Jim Lehrer and Bob Schieffer are the veterans. Last November, Schieffer and his old pal Lehrer talked about the behind-the-scenes nature of the presidential debates — like the candidate who requested that it be 58 degrees at his podium.
“I was literally shaking,” said Schieffer of the nervousness he felt before his first go at hosting a 2004 debate. WATCH:
