I am a professional freelance writer and Virginia native based in the mountains of Highland County. While Highland is home base for me, I spend a great deal of time on the road as a travel writer with most of my coverage occurring domestically in the southeast and mid-Atlantic with a special focus on the southern mountains. I have written professionally for over 10 years. In that time, I have written a wide array of news and feature articles not only on travel, but also on outdoor recreation, environmental and social issues, government policy, wildlife conservation and management, home design, restoration, and construction, health and fitness, agriculture, history, culture, music, business and real estate.
