Professional Experience
The most rewarding experience so far in my journalism career has been an article I wrote on a 19-year-old young man dying of kidney disease. A reader was so moved by my article that she decided to donate a kidney of her own to him. It is this kind of reporting that I love to do. In addition to that story during my 16 years in journalism, I have also written health features, including a story about an alarming rise in the number of new HIV infections among gay and bisexual males between 13 and 24 years old. I can write about any topic, but social-issues-related stories are my favorite to tell. I also used to live in Madrid, Spain, and I am well-versed in that culture. Currently, I freelance for an up-start medical company based in the New York City metropolitan area.
