Professional Experience

A lifelong Seattleite, I am strongly rooted in Northwest food, culture and travel, but I cherish telling stories on topics beyond the Northwest as well. My feature article subjects have included a celebrated mushroom forager (with original recipes), a deluxe fly-in fishing resort in British Columbia, Northwest native Mario Batali, attending cooking classes while traveling and urban backyard chickens (among many others). Areas of special expertise include: the Northwest, seafood, regional cooking traditions, beverages, seasonal food, French cuisine, culinary history, home cooking, and chefs/restaurants. I not only write about food, but develop recipes as well.
