Professional Experience

As a nationally published feature writer, I've covered books and films; the art and craft of writing; home, furniture and garden design; and travel. I've interviewed artists, authors, actors and directors, and folks who are passionate about their interests, whether it’s wearable art, designing furniture, gardening, neuroscience, or building a steam locomotive. Published articles include “The Houses Railroads Built,” a survey of Gilded Age mansions, “Hale Verbs Well Met,” about wordsmith Constance Hale, “If You Want to Write…Start Here,” “Sitting Pretty,” about beautifully crafted one-of-a-kind chairs, how artists on the art fair circuit succeed in business, and how writers use social media. I approach each assignment with curiosity, enthusiasm and ear for a good story.
