Professional Experience
I am a freelance writer specializing in education writing. I have completed features for the Hechinger Report, which also appeared in the Nation, Christian Science Monitor and PBS News Hour online. From 2011 until it closed last summer, I was a regular writer for Scholastic Administrator and I have written regularly for Teachers College’s alumni magazine TC Today since 2006. My education writing has also appeared in Harvard's Ed Magazine.
I have more than 30 years of experience as a reporter and writer with journalistic credits ranging from The New Yorker's Goings on About Town section to stringing for U.S. News & World Report to Family Fun and the New York Law Journal. I have published personal essays in Newsday, Family Fun and Smithsonian as well as more than a dozen short stories.
For more than twenty years, I have also been a regular writer for inhouse publications at corporate clients including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Pfizer, American Express, Deloitte and Clairol.
