Professional Experience

I've worked in automotive journalism as a writer and editor since 2002. Even within the auto writing niche, there are specialties, and I've written about exotic cars, alternative fuel cars, and where those two worlds collide: electric vehicle drag racing. I also write quite a bit about the Pacific Northwest, even if it isn't car-related. I just love where I live.

Showcase

Automotive

This is a good example of the kind of automotive reporting I do for HowStuffWorks.com, which is owned by Discovery.
Profile of Brammo, an Ashland, Oregon-based company that released its first electric motorcycle in summer 2009.
"In a nutshell" descriptions of exotic cars, from Lamborghini to Lotus, plus luxury marques like Maybach and Rolls-Royce. If it's crazy expensive and relatively rare, you can find a profile and pictures on my site.
Not only did I report and write this article, but I provided the images.

Northwest

Profile of Mark Frohnmayer, electric vehicle entrepreneur and sustainability wonk, who lives and works to improve his Eugene, Oregon, neighborhood.
Dark Horse, the third largest comic book publisher in the country, is bestowing its archives on the founder's alma mater, Portland State University.
