Position Summary...
Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, and mentoring; assigning duties; setting clear expectations; providing recognition; communicating effectively; promoting a belonging mindset; recruiting and developing qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth. Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with stakeholders; supporting plans to meet customer and business needs; setting goals; building accountability; identifying improvement opportunities; and demonstrating adaptability and continuous learning. Leads and develops teams through teaching, training, listening, store tours, feedback, and collaboration across all levels of staff. Ensures exceptional customer service standards by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model; managing customer service initiatives; resolving customer issues; and leading process improvements. Ensures compliance with policies and supports company mission, values, and ethics by implementing related action plans and utilizing the Open Door Policy. Drives store financial performance by reviewing P&L statements; managing budgets; monitoring merchandise presentation; controlling inventory; and developing strategies to meet sales and profit goals. Minimum Qualifications...
2 years of college; OR 1 year retail and 1 year supervisory experience; OR 2 years general work and 1 year supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition with state-specific requirements may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required trainings and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.
Preferred Qualifications...
Optional qualifications include a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership via Live Better U and Bellevue University, a Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through the same programs, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports with responsibilities including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
