Position Summary

The Store Manager provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates through hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties. They set clear expectations, promote a sense of belonging, and recruit qualified staff to meet staffing needs and support company growth.

They coordinate, complete, and oversee store activities by building relationships with stakeholders, supporting plans to meet customer and business needs, and promoting continuous improvement. They lead and develop teams by teaching, training, and providing feedback, and communicate store operations and initiatives effectively.

The Store Manager models exceptional customer service by following the One Best Way (OBW) service model, supporting customer initiatives, resolving issues, and leading process improvements for a high-quality customer experience.

They ensure compliance with company policies, support the company's mission and values, and foster an ethical work environment. The role involves driving financial performance by managing P&L statements, budgeting, controlling expenses, and ensuring effective merchandise presentation and inventory flow.

The Store Manager respects individual differences, works as a team, acts with integrity, and serves customers and members by delivering results and making decisions based on reliable information. At Walmart, we offer competitive pay, performance bonuses, health benefits, retirement plans, paid time off, and other perks. The annual salary range for this position is $65,000.00-$80,000.00, with additional compensation based on performance and location.

Minimum Qualifications

2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience. For firearm sales, successful completion of a background check and firearm-specific training are required. All associates must attend and complete required training and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University, Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership, and experience supervising 5 or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
