What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):

Write, edit, and publish a high volume of news and culture content daily

Collaborate closely with editorial, audio, and social teams for cohesive coverage

Identify and elevate emerging stories relevant to Black audiences

Participate in real-time coverage during breaking news moments

Apply SEO and tagging best practices for improved content discoverability

What is Required (Qualifications):

1–3 years of experience in digital journalism, web producing, or content creation

Proven experience writing and editing online content, including articles and social copy

Familiarity with CMS publishing tools and basic image editing software

Working knowledge of SEO, tagging, and content optimization best practices

Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field preferred

How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience publishing or promoting content on social media platforms

A strong writer and editor with sound editorial judgment

A genuine love of news and cultural conversation

Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Adaptable and responsive during breaking news situations
