Key Responsibilities
Analyze Request for Quotes (RFQs), blueprints, and technical specifications to determine project scope and requirements.
Collaborate with engineering, production, purchasing, and sales teams to gather necessary information for accurate costing.
Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs, applying appropriate markups and pricing strategies.
Prepare and submit detailed, accurate, and competitive quotations to customers within specified deadlines.
Maintain comprehensive records of all quotes, pricing data, and customer interactions in the CRM system.
Follow up on submitted quotes to gather feedback, address customer inquiries, and negotiate terms.
Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities or process improvements within the quoting function.
Recommended Qualifications
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and production costs.
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and calculations.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and quoting software.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for cost estimation and proposal development.
Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
Bonus Qualifications
Basic understanding of manufacturing processes or ability to interpret technical drawings.
Experience with advanced features of ERP/CRM systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Salesforce) relevant to quoting.
Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, advanced Excel) for cost modeling and trend analysis.
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
