We are seeking a motivated, organized, and driven Business Development Manager to help expand our client base and generate new business opportunities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys prospecting, building relationships, creating opportunities, and helping organizations solve real workforce problems.
Position Summary
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating new business through outbound sales efforts, relationship development, and strategic follow-up. This is primarily an inside sales role based in our King of Prussia office, with some flexibility for hybrid work. The position focuses on identifying potential clients, opening doors, setting meetings, understanding client needs, and helping move opportunities through the sales pipeline.
The ideal candidate is comfortable making calls, sending outreach, following up consistently, and building trust with decision-makers. This person should be highly organized, assertive without being pushy, and confident in communicating value in a competitive market.
Key Responsibilities
Generate new business opportunities through calls, email outreach, networking, referrals, and follow-up efforts
Identify and target prospective clients in education, behavioral health, healthcare, and other industries
Build relationships with school districts, charter schools, intermediate units, healthcare organizations, and other prospective partners
Schedule and participate in introductory meetings with decision-makers and key stakeholders
Learn and communicate Humanus’ service offerings clearly and professionally
Maintain a steady pipeline of prospects and sales activity
Track outreach, follow-up, opportunities, and progress within internal systems
Collaborate with leadership, recruiting, and client management teams to align business development efforts with operational capabilities
Support proposal development, pricing discussions, and introductory sales presentations as needed
Attend occasional in-person meetings, conferences, or networking events to support business growth
Stay informed on market trends, client hiring challenges, and competitive conditions
Qualifications
Prior business development, inside sales, staffing sales, or recruiting industry experience strongly preferred
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Ability to make consistent outbound contact and maintain professional follow-up
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Self‑motivated and capable of working independently while collaborating with a team
Professional presence and confidence speaking with executives, administrators, and other decision‑makers
Experience selling staffing or recruiting services is highly preferred
Experience in education, healthcare, behavioral health, administrative, warehouse, or light industrial staffing is a plus
