Personal Banker I – Fort‑14th
General Function
The Personal Banker I position will provide an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. This role is responsible for processing teller transactions while serving as a member of the platform staff. The banker helps customers understand and address their financial needs, providing consultative sales and service solutions across the customer lifecycle.
Responsibilities
Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach in person, over the phone, or via other channels.
Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations and solutions.
Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered.
Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customer needs are met and all problems are resolved.
Analyze customer credit data and other financial information to ensure appropriate product alignment.
Provide customer support reinforcing the value of current and new technology.
Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines.
Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and related policies, modeling ethical behavior expected of every employee.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma/GED and 6 months customer service experience, or a college degree or equivalent military experience.
Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships.
Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication.
Exhibits business acumen.
Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions.
Position requires SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).
