Job Summary Worcester Rehabilitation & Health Care Center, a 146-bed skilled nursing facility, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Director to join our dynamic care team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the maintenance department to ensure that our facility is maintained in a safe and comfortable manner. $30 to $35 an hour, depending on experience, with weekly pay.
Responsibilities
Meet the maintenance needs of the facility
Recognize hazards to residents or staff safety and take appropriate action to maintain a safe environment
Replace, repair, and purchase items according to facility policy and procedure
Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs and document accurately
Maintain weather protection against cold, heat, fire, and other hazards
Supervise outside contractors
Serve on-call for emergency and off-duty hours
Perform errands and tasks as required
Maintain upkeep of exterior of building and grounds in all weather conditions
Demonstrate and teach correct safety techniques, in accord with company policy and prior training
Requirements
High school diploma or its equivalent
A minimum of three (3) years experience in a supervisory capacity, in maintenance/plant-related position preferred
Knowledgeable of boilers, compressors, generators, etc., as well as various mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and be knowledgeable in building codes and safety regulations
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work harmoniously with and supervise professional and non-professional personnel
