Equal Employment Specialist

The selectee will serve as an Equal Employment Specialist in the Office of Equal Employment Opportunity and Conflict Resolution. Typical work assignments include: Conducting day-to-day activities and advising on the overall administration of the Equal Employment Opportunity program. Ensuring work is performed consistent with the short and long-range plans of the program areas and follows established federal, Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC), Department of Homeland Security (DHS), and other oversight entities rules and guidelines. Contributing to the development and implementation of operating instructions and program procedures and coordinating with stakeholders to ensure functional integration of the Equal Employment Opportunity Program. Providing one-on-one consultation to explain the Equal Employment Opportunity complaints program, educating the workforce on legal and policy responsibilities and obligations, recommending improvements in the complaints program and/or process, determining options, developing resolution strategies, and advising managers on ways to address issues. Participating in the development and delivery of employee and supervisory trainings, presentations, and other educational communications on areas within the purview of the directorate.
