
Human Resources Specialist

The HR Specialist performs professional‑level work supporting Human Resources operations. This role is responsible for managing recruitment‑related activities, employee data administration, employment verifications, and compliance‑related processes. The HR Specialist works closely with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate HR records, timely hiring processes, and adherence to applicable policies and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Contact candidates and extend conditional and final employment offers
Enter and maintain personnel actions and HR‑related data in the applicant tracking and HRIS systems
Screen job applications to ensure minimum qualifications are met
Complete employment and eligibility verifications (I‑9, background checks, etc.)
Respond to unemployment claims and related documentation requests
Verify eligibility and process requests related to FMLA and other leave programs
Maintain accurate employee records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Provide general HR support and perform additional HR‑related duties as assigned
Physical Requirements
Ability to exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally
Negligible force required frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body
Qualifications
Associate’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field
Four (4) years of progressively responsible experience in Human Resources
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the role
Working knowledge of HR processes, recruiting workflows, and employment compliance
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage confidential information
Valid driver’s license issued by state of residency
