About this Role The Impact Investing Associate at the Boston Impact Initiative plays a crucial role in advancing the capital deployment strategy, especially during a period of growth. This position offers an opportunity for significant responsibility, supporting and leading transactions from their inception through execution. Responsibilities include evaluating and structuring investments across various financial instruments, partnering directly with entrepreneurs, and being active in portfolio management and impact measurement. The role is ideal for candidates with strong analytical skills who are driven by the potential to grow into a lead investing role. The Associate reports to the Investment Manager and collaborates closely with senior leadership to ensure financial performance aligns with community impact.

Responsibilities

Discover, define, and evaluate new impact investment opportunities.

Conduct financial, business, and impact due diligence.

Build financial models and draft due diligence memos.

Collect legal documents and coordinate with attorneys.

Provide financial, strategic, and impact coaching to portfolio companies.

Coordinate annual meetings with portfolio companies.

Analyze and synthesize portfolio impact data.

Support development and implementation of Impact Ratings system.

Research and present portfolio performance analyses.

Maintain pipeline and portfolio tracking reports.

Requirements

1-3 years of experience in corporate finance, social impact investing, or business consulting.

MBA, Graduate degree in Finance, CFA, or CAIA preferred.

Direct impact investing experience is strongly preferred.

Strong accounting, quantitative analysis, and financial modeling skills.

Ability to handle confidential information professionally.

Relationship management skills to support small business growth.

Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
