Instructional Designer #1055199 We are seeking an Instructional Designer with strong foundational ID skills and hands-on video production experience to support training across a utilities environment. This role is ideal for an early-career instructional designer (2–3 years of experience) who is comfortable designing learning experiences and producing video-based training. Remote with occasional in-person work depending on video shoots. Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain learning solutions that support operational, technical, safety, and customer-focused training, with a strong emphasis on video as a delivery method. Create instructor-led and virtual instructor-led training (ILT/VILT), e-learning modules, microlearning assets, and video-based learning solutions. Write storyboards and scripts, create learning outlines aligned to performance objectives, and maintain existing materials for accuracy and relevance. Ensure learning solutions meet accessibility, usability, and quality standards. Lead video pre-production activities (writing video scripts and interview questions, creating shot lists and production plans, coordinating schedules, locations, and SMEs). Set up and conduct video shoots (camera, lighting, basic audio) and coach on-screen participants as needed. Perform post-production editing (sync audio/video, trimming, adding titles, lower thirds, callouts, and simple animations) and incorporate graphics or motion elements as appropriate. Optimize videos for different delivery platforms (LMS, intranet, mobile) and follow brand, style, and quality standards for all video assets. Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex utility concepts into clear, learner-centered content. Qualifications

Education: 4 years of experience in instructional design, learning development, or a related field. Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Learning Technologies, Communications, or a related discipline. Equivalent experience will be considered. Working knowledge of instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE or similar). Experience developing learning content for adult learners in a corporate or technical environment. Hands-on experience with video production and editing; proficiency with instructional design and development tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Creative Suite) and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Camtasia). Basic understanding of camera operation, lighting fundamentals, and audio recording best practices. Experience integrating video into Vimeo, e-learning, or blended learning solutions. Portfolio or selection of work samples showcasing video, e-learning, and other training materials (required for consideration).
