Business Development Manager-Healthcare
Legacy Care, Virginia Beach, VA, United States
About The Role
We are seeking a driven, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to expand our presence across Virginia by securing new partnerships with Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs) and Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs). This role is ideal for a high-energy professional who thrives on building connections, closing deals, and growing territory through strategic outreach and in-person relationship development. This is not a passive account management role — this position requires proactive outreach, in-person engagement, and consistent new business development.
Travel Requirement This position requires frequent travel throughout Virginia to meet with prospective and existing facility partners. Travel is a core function of the role. A company vehicle is available for business travel and is encouraged for use, based on shared availability.
Key Responsibilities
Identify, target, and develop new business opportunities with ALF and SNF facilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with facility administrators, directors, and decision-makers
Conduct in-person meetings, presentations, and site visits to secure new contracts
Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting to contract execution
Collaborate with internal recruiting and operations teams to ensure successful service delivery
Maintain a pipeline of prospects and provide regular updates on sales activity and performance
Represent the company at networking events, industry functions, and client meetings
What Success Looks Like
Consistently securing new facility contracts
Building long-term, trust-based client relationships
Expanding company footprint across assigned territory
Meeting or exceeding growth targets
Qualifications
3+ years of business development, sales, or account management experience
Experience in post-acute healthcare industry, senior care, or healthcare services strongly preferred
Proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals
Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills
Ability to work independently and manage a travel-based schedule
Excellent communication and negotiation skills
What We’re Looking For
Proactive, confident, and persistent approach to business development
Comfortable initiating conversations and building relationships in person
Ability to convert relationships into long-term business partnerships
Highly organized and self-motivated
Ability to think creatively and develop innovative, non-traditional approaches to identifying and securing new business opportunities
What We Offer
Competitive base salary plus commission structure
Opportunity to build and grow a territory
Health, dental, and vision insurance
401(k) with company match
Employer-paid basic life, AD&D, and short-term disability insurance
Supportive and collaborative team environment
Meaningful work connecting healthcare providers with facilities in need
