Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and expand a profitable book of business.
Serve as the primary contact for agency relationships, ensuring exceptional client service.
Develop and implement marketing strategies to drive new and renewal business growth.
Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts.
Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities as needed.
Monitor key performance metrics and take corrective actions to improve new business hit rates, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
Lead, mentor, and develop Associate Underwriters to foster team growth and success.
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience (excess & surplus lines experience preferred).
Proven proficiency in sales and marketing within the insurance industry.
Insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations preferred.
Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Commitment to ongoing education and professional development.
Willingness to travel as necessary to build and maintain client relationships.
