Responsibilities
Build, maintain, and expand a profitable book of business.
Serve as the primary contact for agency relationships, fostering strong client connections.
Develop and execute strategic marketing plans to drive new and renewal business growth.
Evaluate, rate, quote, and bind risks to determine acceptability, coverage, and pricing for both new and renewal accounts.
Submit underwriting referrals to company brokerage facilities as needed.
Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, implementing corrective actions to optimize new business acquisition, renewal retention, premium growth, and loss ratios.
Lead, mentor, and develop Associate Underwriters to enhance team performance.
Qualifications / Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience (excess & surplus lines experience preferred).
Proven expertise in sales and marketing within the insurance industry.
Possession of an insurance license, CPCU, CIC, or comparable designations is highly desirable.
Exceptional organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
Commitment to ongoing education and professional growth.
Willingness to travel as necessary to build and maintain client relationships.
