Job Overview

Program Supplier Assurance (PSA) Associate Director for Advanced Products & Solutions (APS) Strategic Business Unit.

Remote position with nominal travel.

Lead and manage a team of approximately 20 Program Supplier Assurance Engineers across the Radio Frequency Solutions (RFS) and Electro-Optical & Infrared Solutions (EOIRS) SSBU. Provide Mission Assurance, supplier oversight, and continuous improvement to ensure quality parts and services.

Responsibilities

  • Program-facing manager providing technical and functional leadership.
  • Engage with APS Programs to ensure all aspects of supplier quality are addressed.
  • Serve as the interface between Programs and partner cross-functional teams and the broader Supplier Assurance organization.
  • Support Supplier Assurance initiatives and improvement projects.
  • Continuously drive the department’s technical, program, and supplier assurance process skills.
  • Staff programs to deliver required innovation, efficiency, effectiveness, capability and capacity to meet SBU and SSBU business needs.
  • Support monthly APS level Major Business Reviews (MBR) and Operations Review.
  • Support monthly Raytheon Supplier Assurance Operations Review.
  • Serve as independent reviewer for Program gate reviews.
  • Manage labor and non-labor budgets to meet organizational funding targets.
  • Drive and review actionable metrics to assure improvement plans are addressed.
  • Accountable for providing high integrity supplier selection options to programs to meet program cost, schedule and delivery targets.
  • Drive effective deployment of process initiatives (APQP, PPAP) and growth and maintenance of department processes.
  • Accountable for employee performance – goal setting, career counseling, and development aligned to product roadmaps and resource allocation.
  • Remote: Must reside in a U.S. state and be eligible for remote work.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • University degree or equivalent experience with minimum 12 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with minimum 10 years’ experience.
  • Prior Quality, Manufacturing, or Project Management experience.
  • Experience in personnel and program or project management.
  • Experience in supplier management, quality, performance, and/or auditing.
  • Experience preparing and facilitating briefs and presentations.
  • Continuous Improvement and process improvement experience (e.g., APQP/PPAP, CORE).
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance (DoD Secret) before start date; U.S. citizenship required.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Six Sigma, Lean, or ASQ Certification (CQE, CQM/OE, CSQE, CQA, CRE).
  • Proven success in building and maintaining relationships with multiple suppliers/customers.
  • Experience in DoD product and process oversight (requirements, build, integration, test, delivery).
  • Experience in engineering, development, project planning, and remote collaboration.
  • Experience in large/matrixed organizations interfacing with multiple levels (Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, Production Control, Program Leadership, Customers).
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100, AS9145 APQP & PPAP, AS9102 FAI.
  • Experience with aerospace/commercial preventive tools: SPC, FMEA, QFD, PPAP, Lean, Control Plans, etc.
  • Knowledge of industry technical standards (ANSI, CMMI, ASTM).
  • Strong technical engineering background with excellent communication skills, presence, influence, and self-managed contributor.
  • Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to develop plans to demonstrate continuous improvement for out-of-phase defects.
