Job Overview
ProSidian is seeking a UX/UI Designer specializing in Human Capital Technology Support – Self‑Service Portals for the National Science Foundation (NSF) under contract NSF0062062. The position is located in Alexandria, VA with hybrid onsite/off‑site work across the Mid‑Atlantic region. The role supports federal science agency HR modernization and is exempt on a W2 basis without overtime.
Responsibilities & Duties
Design and deliver user‑centered interfaces that enhance operational efficiency, support digital transformation, and reduce administrative burdens.
Develop self‑service portal solutions to engage employees and streamline HR processes.
Ensure compliance with Section 508 accessibility standards, usability best practices, and federal human‑capital policies.
Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate IT systems, workforce planning tools, and advanced analytics for data‑driven decision making.
Provide end‑to‑end solutions—including wireframes, prototypes, and final visual assets—while maintaining performance and scalability.
Qualifications
Minimum 4 years of professional UX/UI design experience.
Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human‑Computer Interaction, Computer Science, or related field.
Proficiency with design tools (Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, InVision, etc.) and robust knowledge of interaction design, visual design, and accessibility.
Strong understanding of federal regulations, especially Section 508 and related HOIS standards.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and project management skills with experience leading or coordinating design efforts.
Additional Requirements
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word), Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and data‑analytic tools.
