Per Diem: $550 weekly offered to non-local candidates

Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced
Project Engineer II
to support engineering and technical activities for Electric Distribution projects. This role will function as a Lead Project Engineer, working closely with project managers and cross-functional teams to plan, design, and execute complex projects, including substation rebuilds and economic development initiatives.
The ideal candidate will ensure project quality, accuracy, and compliance from conception through completion while managing multiple engineering assignments.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and monitor engineering projects
Lead engineering tasks and support project managers in execution
Coordinate work between internal teams, external engineers, vendors, and contractors
Review engineering deliverables and implement corrective actions
Ensure compliance with codes, standards, QA/QC policies, and specifications
Develop technical specifications for project equipment
Support Agile project delivery and manage timelines effectively
Mentor team members and assign responsibilities
Build strong relationships with stakeholders and business partners
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (ABET accredited)
(OR non-ABET degree with Professional Engineering (PE) license)
5–7 years of experience in a Project Engineer role
Minimum 5 years of experience on complex engineering projects
Strong experience coordinating internal and external engineering disciplines
Knowledge of engineering design tools (e.g., AutoCAD)
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
Experience in contract management and engineering deliverables
Preferred Qualifications:
Background in Electric Distribution or substation projects
Electrical Engineering background (preferred, not required)
Knowledge of Project Management tools (Unifier, ProjectWise)
Understanding of project management principles
Work Environment:
Hybrid role: 3 days onsite (Mon, Tue, Thu), 2 days remote
Travel required for site visits and team meetings
Preferred location: Jackson, MI (Parnall office), but flexible across listed locations
