Business Developer – Engineering & Energy Services Location: Denver or Boulder, CO | Hybrid
Compensation: $90k and up + commission
A well-established engineering and energy services organization is seeking a Business Developer to drive new client relationships and expand project opportunities across the Rocky Mountain region and beyond. This role is focused on true new business development: identifying opportunities, building relationships with decision-makers, and securing consulting and infrastructure modernization projects.
You’ll work closely with engineering and technical teams to deliver solutions related to energy efficiency, building performance, and facility upgrades across commercial, healthcare, education, industrial, and institutional environments.
Key Responsibilities Prospect and develop new client relationships across commercial and institutional markets
Lead the full sales lifecycle from initial outreach through contract execution
Build relationships with facility leaders, executives, and key stakeholders
Collaborate with technical teams to develop proposals and solutions for complex facilities
Represent the organization at industry events, conferences, and networking functions
Drive consistent pipeline growth and meet annual sales targets
What We’re Looking For 5+ years of business development or sales experience within energy services, engineering, construction, or the AEC industry
Proven ability to generate new business and manage longer sales cycles
Strong understanding of building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or energy infrastructure)
Confident communicator with a proactive, relationship-driven mindset
