Admission Access Clerk - Patient Services
Join a dedicated healthcare team as an Admission Access Clerk, where you will play a vital role in admitting, pre-admitting, and transferring patients within a busy medical facility located in the Central Plains region of the United States. This position requires a warm, customer-focused approach to ensure a smooth and respectful patient experience from newborns to geriatric individuals.
Key Responsibilities
Gather and verify all necessary demographic and insurance information to admit or pre-admit patients, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations while maintaining a high accuracy rate.
Coordinate with financial counselors regarding private pay or insurance concerns.
Distribute admission paperwork promptly to relevant departments and staff.
Assist with patient transport as needed.
Collect co-pays, coinsurance, and deductibles according to insurance contracts and eligibility verification.
Process patient payments and complete daily deposits.
Adhere strictly to privacy and security regulations concerning Protected Health Information (PHI).
Education and Experience
No formal education or prior experience is strictly required; however, familiarity with medical terminology and previous clerical or computer experience is preferred.
