Accounts Payable Specialist
A growing, multi-location organization in the energy services sector is seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Payable (AP) Specialist (Temp to Hire) to oversee full-cycle AP functions while supporting broader administrative operations. This opportunity is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working with both internal teams and external vendors, and can bring structure to manual processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end accounts payable processes including purchase orders, invoice verification, coding, and payment processing
Partner with internal leadership to generate and analyze AP-related reports and financial metrics
Act as the primary liaison for vendor communication, resolving discrepancies and maintaining strong relationships
Review aging reports and vendor statements to ensure accuracy of liabilities and support month-end accruals
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in high-volume accounts payable environments, including manual workflows
Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail in financial processing
Effective communication and problem-solving skills, particularly in vendor management situations
Solid understanding of accounting fundamentals, including accruals and reconciliation processes
Hourly: $26/hr - $28.50/hr (possible flex)
Location: Laurel, MS 39440 Onsite - M-F
Temp to Hire - possible convert to permanent/direct hire in 90 days.
This role requires someone who can bring discipline to processes that are not fully automated yet. If someone struggles with ambiguity or needs highly structured systems already in place, they will fail here. The right hire will be proactive, organized, and capable of improving workflows while keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly.
